Thank you for the kind words. The amusing thing is that all my liberal friends (which is pretty much all of my online friends) seem to think that it's actually about tomatoes.
I wonder whether perhaps they believe the part about my not being able to afford the tomatoes, and think I made the rest up out of pique, never suspecting it's the other way around.
Is that subversive or merely contrarian? (To be subversive, don't you have to keep your ideas somewhat under wraps while quietly promoting them disguised as something else?)

Oh, and I was already a subversive in fandom, because I believe in platonic friendships.
