The Passing of an Era

The older ducklings have always referred to the previous evening as "yesternight," a charming and elegant word which I would never have dreamed of correcting, as I think it should be more widely applied.

This morning D2 used it and D1 corrected, "We ooozually say last night."

At least they haven't given up "ooozually."

Maybe if we all start saying yesternight we can bring it into vogue. I like it!

Oh! The loss of child-isms for regular speech. I was so sad the first time Olivia said, "Popsicle" instead of "Pah-Coal-Gets-Goal." Sad days indeed.

I agree, yesternight is lovely!

my two oldest just stopped saying moogus for music.

everyone is growing up. I wish some of those cute words would just stay!

Yesternight is very logical and I'm sorry they're letting it go.

Daphne is starting to correct herself, saying "computer" instead of "compingu." But I love "compingu" so much!

I remember sighing when Addie and Stuart retired "vide-yeh-do" and said "video."
