Baby Jesus, Mary and Joseph are at the center on Christmas day and the two days before. The others are arranged around in flexible rows, and I started to write out a long explanation, but then it occured to me that this is one of those places where a picture would be worth a thousand words. So I'll try to find batteries for the camera and take a picture after the kids get up.

SJ~Ah yes, next I'm going to have to start working on Easter. Maybe I'll get it done before the season starts this time.Queen of Carrotshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03193758647591339890noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5831804.post-1165641487058371562006-12-08T21:18:00.000-08:002006-12-08T21:18:00.000-08:00Your advent-gift-devotional is a wonderful idea! We had to get a new set last year because the kids, charmed by the little symbols, lost most of them. And they know the Easter story in and out. I'm sure your little ones are absorbing more than you think.

I'd never sit down and make symbolic little gifts. Maybe I'll have a child who will want to do that later in life. :)

-- SJthe Joneseshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15854341910963353734noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5831804.post-1165635864726645032006-12-08T19:44:00.000-08:002006-12-08T19:44:00.000-08:00Neat!Could you tell me more about the flannel Adve...Neat!
Could you tell me more about the flannel Advent calendar? Once you have the principal figures tucked inside, do you fill in with random animals until you get to December?
Also, is there a space at the top of the calendar to arrange the figures, or does the whole thing look like a manger?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5831804.post-1165615751007190792006-12-08T14:09:00.000-08:002006-12-08T14:09:00.000-08:00Gifts for you kids - that's nice.
